A few characters can hold a whole memory. Choose a short message for a necklace tag, whether you are marking an anniversary, a birthday or a friendship.
Our optional free engraving accepts up to 10 characters in one line. Spaces and punctuation count. Use English letters A–Z or a–z, numbers and standard English punctuation. Accented letters, emoji, other writing systems and line breaks are not supported.
Start with the meaning
Choose one thing you want the piece to recall: a person, a moment or a word you share. Initials can feel private; a date can mark a beginning; a short word can be a familiar reminder. You do not need a whole sentence.

These are text ideas, not photographs of completed engraving. We reproduce the text you submit rather than rewriting it. Capitalization is part of your choice.
Initials: simple and personal
Examples include A + M (5 characters), J&K (3) and M.J. (4). A short name such as Mia (3) is another option. Check which initials the recipient actually uses.
Dates: agree on the format
10.12.2026 uses all 10 characters, but can mean different dates to different people. If clarity matters more than a full year, Oct 12 (6 characters) may be easier for your recipient to recognize. Choose your own date; these are examples only. Count every dot, slash and space, including accidental trailing spaces.
Where does the engraving go?
On the Heartbeat Heart Necklace, engraving goes on the metal tag, not on the front of the heart pendant. One fixed font is used; there is no live engraving preview. For other eligible pieces, read the personalization guide and the specific product description. Earrings are not available with engraving.

- Count the characters, including spaces and punctuation.
- Check spelling, capitalization and the date format.
- Confirm engraving eligibility and placement.
- Select free engraving and enter your exact text. Add pieces separately if you want different text on each.
- Read delivery and return information before checkout.
Engraved items are final sale for change-of-mind returns. Our engraving errors, faulty goods and mandatory consumer rights are handled separately. Items ordered without engraving have different return conditions. See customer care or email sales@lunarcarat.com.
For a gift, allow approximately 7 business days for preparation and 15 business days for transit. These are estimates and delays can occur. Read shipping and delivery before relying on an event date.
